Two Men Detained in Somero Homicide Investigation

Police in Southwest Finland are investigating a homicide in Somero after a deceased man was found in a private residence on Thursday. Two men, aged approximately 65 and 30, have been detained as suspects in the case.

The emergency center received a report shortly before dawn on Thursday about a bloodied man walking in the center of Somero. Police located and detained a 65-year-old man in the area (Yle). Based on preliminary interrogations, authorities were directed to a residence on Turuntie, where they discovered the body of a 40-year-old man (Ilta-Sanomat).

A short time later, police detained a 30-year-old man from Somero, who is suspected of having been present in the residence at the time of the incident (MTV Uutiset). The case is being investigated as a manslaughter, though police have not disclosed details about the weapon used or the exact circumstances of the death.

Detective Chief Inspector Jukka Kyynäräinen, the lead investigator, stated that the preliminary investigation is in its early stages, and further details cannot be provided at this time (Iltalehti). Police have not confirmed when the suspected homicide occurred.
